Discounts need to applied from time to time due to customer service issues, discounted accounts [military, senior, etc.], selling between hospitals, and most commonly because the client is an employee of one of our hospitals.
Most discounts apply automatically and do not need to be modified further. Certain items are not discountable to the general public and those will not show as having a discount applied even when the client has a discount attached to their account. This becomes an issue when it is an item that we discount for our employees or other hospitals.
Another issue that we run into is minimum pricing. We use minimum pricing to help ensure that we are charging enough for injections and services. But this can become an issue when a discount should make the price lower than the minimum price of the item.
Below are explanations on how to apply discounts to items that do not automatically apply the discount or do not apply the full discount.

When submitted as employee or doctor bloodwork, Antech Reference Labs provide a discount of 50% or 100% off list price of the test. Many of our tests are discounted due to volume of tests run, so a 50% employee discount might appear to be more or less than 50%, because Antech is basing it off of the original list price. To apply these discounts, we can use the same pricing tool as seen above.

Some tests do not fall under the employee discount at Antech. These should be invoiced as normal with the typical 20% Employee Discount.
